Sometimes when people marry young, they may find that they will also divorce young. This is because people can grow a lot during their 20s and may find that they grow differently and apart as they grow older. This is what happened to actress Olivia Wilde. Wilde, one of the stars on the TV show, "House," concedes that her decision to marry at age 18 was a bit impulsive. The now 27-year-old said that she and her husband were married on a bus.
In the years since they were married, Wilde says that they have become more fully adult and have grown apart in the process. Wilde says that she felt like a failure after her marriage broke up, but she has since come to appreciate the lessons she learned from both her marriage and divorce and believes the emotional process and experience has made her a better actor.
Wilde seems to have a healthy approach to her divorce. Many people feel similarly devastated after a divorce, but one of the ways to heal is to remember that you are going through a common and shared human experience. It is also good to find the good in the experience and use it to move forward in life.
Wilde says that the 'good' thing about getting a divorce while young is that she learned those lessons and she is still young enough to apply them to the rest of her life. She says that the experience has made her realize that life can't be put on a schedule, and she feels more open.
